TangoGPS is a wonderful tool to navigate using OpenStreetMap data. Currently though, it does not yet support the loading of track files. However, here is a little hack to insert track points from a GPX file into the tangoGPS POI database. This may be useful for rudimentary routing and for geocaching. As seen on the screenshot, a route is displayed as a series of unconnected track points.

The small script is written in python. It requires pysqlite2. It reads a gpx file, and inserts track points directly into the file poi.db which you can find in your .tangogps directory. It works for me and files generated by the Open Route Service. Your mileage may vary, and you might have to edit the regular expression which identifies the track points (Refer to the comments for using it with gpsbabel) . Don’t forget your backup.

That’s right. Now you can write just like I do. Blame it on fontforge, a wonderful tool for creating fonts, which I discovered a few weeks ago. The font is still a bit unbalanced, and most special characters are missing, but the overall impression is quite like what I expected.

Es gibt zwei neue Carsharing-Anbieter in Berlin: Cambio und den Sixti Car Club. Sie ergänzen das bisherige Angebot von Greenwheels, DB Carsharing und Stadtmobil. Nachdem ich gerade meinen Preisvergleich der Berliner Carsharer auf den neuesten Stand gebracht habe, will ich mal eine Tabelle mit den wichtigsten Features anfangen. Das ganze ist ein wachsendes Experiment, wer also Vorschläge, Anregung oder Informationen zu fehlenden Einträgen hat, immer her damit.

Urlaubscontent voraus:

Meinereiner hat sich ja Anfang des Jahres beim Wahlamt des Bezirks Mitte als Schöffe beworben. Schöffen, so wurde mir vom Bundesamt der ehrenamtlichen Richterinnen und Richter e.V. erklärt, dienen dazu, zum fachlichen Urteil des Richters ein Gegengewicht durch den gesunden Menschenverstand zu bieten, und den Gerichtsprozess für den Angeklagten verständlich zu halten. Das klingt dramatisch, und irgendein Teil von mir denkt sich dabei, so schlimm kann’s ja gar nicht sein.

Von der Bewerbung gehört hab ich noch nicht viel, auch wenn ich jetzt im Mai doch mal nachgefragt habe, ob der Schrieb auch angekommen ist. Aber das ist eigentlich eine ganz andere Geschichte.

Heute morgen hatte ich die Gelegenheit, einer Gerichtsverhandlung am AG Tiergarten beizuwohnen. Ein entfernterer Bekannter war als Zeuge geladen, und hat seine Freunde eingeladen, dabei zu sein. Und ich wollte ja schon immer mal wissen, wie das vor Gericht eigentlich so aussieht. Da war ich nämlich vorher noch nie.
